Cette maison en bois design fait partie d'un ensemble de six maisons de l'hôtel Aka Patagonia, situé au nord de Puerto Natales, une ville portuaire du sud dans un paysage rural. Conçue par le studio d'architecture Larrou, elle s'intègre à la nature avec son bois clair et ses lignes épurées. Au loin, on aperçoit la montagne, la neige et les volcans de cette contrée sauvage. Un espace commun relie les différentes maisons, toutes construites sur le même modèle de base, très simple. Un salon, une salle à manger, une cuisine, une chambre et une salle de bain sont les espaces qui la compose.
La construction a été effectuée sur des pieux afin d'avoir un impact minimal sur le terrain, et a été préfabriquée en usine avant d'être amenée sur le site. Les maisons sont construites avec du bois clair issu de l’arbre indigène Lenga, une espèce de bouleau de la région, qui n'a pas nécessité de traitement. Il résiste parfaitement malgré cela aux conditions météorologiques parfois extrêmes de cette région. Lorsque cette maison en bois design verra son bois vieillir, elle s'intègrera parfaitement dans le temps avec son environnement, selon les désirs des architectes qui ont conçu ce projet au plus près de la nature. This wooden design house is part of a group of six houses in the Aka Patagonia hotel, located north of Puerto Natales, a southern port city in a rural landscape. Designed by the Larrou architecture studio, it blends into the natural surroundings with its light wood and clean lines. In the distance, the mountains, snow and volcanoes of this wilderness can be seen. A common space connects the different houses, all built on the same basic, very simple model. A living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom are the spaces that make up the house.
The construction was carried out on piles in order to have a minimal impact on the land, and was prefabricated in a factory before being brought to the site. The houses are built with light-coloured wood from the indigenous lenga tree, a species of birch found in the region, which did not require treatment. Despite this, it is perfectly resistant to the sometimes extreme weather conditions of this region. When the wood of this designer wooden house ages, it will blend in perfectly with its surroundings over time, according to the wishes of the architects who designed this project as close to nature as possible.
